Rules & Regulations
1. Market Hogs will be
placed in classes by their official weights without regard to breed.
Equal numbers of hogs will be put into classes whenever possible.
Market Hogs must weigh greater than 191 pounds and 280 pounds or
less to be eligible for the Jr. Premium Auction.
2. Registration papers required on all hogs entering Breeding
classes. These papers must be presented to Superintendent at time of
check in.
3. Animals must be registered in exhibitors name. Exhibitor limited
to two animals per class. NO EXCEPTIONS!
4. Proper health papers required and must be presented upon arrival.
5. Registered Gilts shown in the Market Show will be allowed to show
in breeding classes. Registered Barrows shown in the Market Show
will be allowed to show in the Purebred Barrow Show.
6. The Van Buren County Fair Association, local Agriculture Teacher
or County Agent must be notified by July 15, 2007 of any animals
entering market hog classes to obtain ownership. Entry fees do
not have to be paid at this time.
7. Stall fees: $5.00 per head.
8. Entry deadline is September 1, 2007. Exhibitors must be residents
of Van Buren County.
9. Animals must be in place no later than 7 p.m. Tuesday, September
11, 2007. Animals will be released at 8 p.m. Saturday, September 15,
2007.
10. Juniors must show their animal or can have assistance from
another Junior exhibitor. Adults are not allowed to assist Junior
exhibitors while they are competing in the show ring during the
Junior Show.
11. Junior exhibitors will exhibit in the Junior Show only. Open
exhibitors will exhibit in the Open show only. Junior exhibitors may
assist in showing open exhibitor's animals in the Open Show.
12. The Van Buren County Fair Association and Superintendent reserve
the right to add to these rules or make any changes necessary at any
time.
