Rules & Regulations
1. Dairy Goats will
consist of one of the following breeds: Lamancha, Nubin, Oberhasli,
Saanan, Toggenburg, Alpine, or Recorded Grade.
2. Registration papers required on all Dairy & Meat Goats entering
breeding classes. These papers must be presented to superintendent
at time of check in.
3. Animals must be registered in exhibitor’s name. Exhibitor limited
to two animals per class. NO EXCEPTIONS!
4. Animals must be free of disease and subject to be checked upon
arrival.
5. Stall fees $5.00 per head.
6. Entry deadline September 1, 2007. Exhibitors must be residents of
Van Buren County.
7. Animals must be in place no later than 7 p.m. Tuesday, September
11, 2007. Animals will be released at 8 p.m. Saturday, September 15,
2007.
8. Juniors must show their animal or can have assistance from
another Junior exhibitor. Adults are not allowed to assist Junior
exhibitor while he/she is competing in the show ring during the
Junior Show.
9. Junior exhibitors will exhibit in the Junior Show only. Open
exhibitors will exhibit in the Open Show only. Junior exhibitors may
assist in showing open exhibitors animals in the Open Show.
10. The Van Buren County Fair Association and Superintendent
reserves the right to add to these rules or make any changes
necessary at any time.

11. Junior Exhibitors Only
12. Minimum weight 35 lbs no maximum
13. Goats must have baby teeth
14. Each exhibitor limited to three goats in Market Goat Show
15. Both does and wethers will be allowed to show. NO BUCKS!!!
16. Animals shown in Dairy or Meat Goat Breeding Classes will not be
allowed to show in Market Goat Classes
17. Any breed of goat or cross may be shown
18. Goats may be horned but horns must be tipped for safety
19. Equal numbers of goats will be placed into classes whenever
possible.
