GENERAL RULES
1. All animals, articles and exhibits competing for prizes
will be entered and shown by one owner, maker or grower.
2. The Fair Association reserves the right to accept or reject
any exhibit before or after it is entered.
3. The Fair Association provides general security on the
grounds. All property taken on to the grounds or into the
buildings are kept entirely at risk of owner. The Van Buren
County Livestock Show and Fair Association will not be responsible
for loss or damage to exhibits but will exercise all possible care
for their protection. Each participant or group is responsible
for the security of their individual function. If malicious
mischief occurs, contact a Fair Association officer. If
necessary, authorities will be called.
4. Each organization is held responsible for daily trash
cleanup within its area. FINES WILL BE ASSESSED to anyone not
complying with the rules.
5. No vehicle traffic will be permitted in carnival, exhibit
or livestock areas after initial set-up. There are designated
parking areas for workers.
6. All livestock entries will be released after 8 p.m.
Saturday. Removal of livestock before these dates and times
will result in forfeited prize money. Homemaking items will be
released Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Exhibits removed before
these times forfeit any prizes won.
7. In order to
comply with Livestock & Poultry Commission rules for Premium Point
System Exhibitors must first exhibit at the County Fair level then
progress to District Fair and State Fair.
8. An admission charge of $4.00 per person will be charged
starting Wednesday. Children 12 and under will be
admitted free. All persons entering the grounds are required
to pay, during regulated hours. Passes will be available for
workers and commercial booths.
9. Competent judges are furnished by the Fair Association.
10. All decisions on the part of the Fair Association will be
final regarding placement charges and awards. Any display of
poor sportsmanship and/or unbecoming conduct, and interference
and/or any other behavioral problem created by a contestant, parent,
relative, or even a supporter of a contestant, could result in
disqualification for the contestant and all future contests.
11. No cash prizes will be paid for exhibits not listed on the
website.
12. In
Homemaking, the Divisions are now Youth: 12 & under, Junior: 13-18, Adult 19-74, Senior:
75 and over. In the Youth, Junior and Senior Divisions, the age must
be on the registration tag to be judged in that division.
13. Exhibit
numbers will be given to each exhibitor and may be obtained in the
exhibit building. No entries will be accepted without one.
14. All exhibitors must have been a resident of Van Buren
County for at least 3 months prior to the fair. All products
must be produced by the exhibitor. All products entered in the
Fair must be produced by amateurs and made within the prior 12
months. An amateur is someone who
earns less than 50% of their income by selling their product.
15. The management reserves the right to remove from the
grounds any exhibit or animal that may be falsely entered or deemed
unsuitable or objectionable, without assigning a reason.
16. The Van Buren County Livestock Show and Fair Association
will not be responsible for any accidents that may occur to any
person or animal. |
