UNUSUAL RECIPE CONTEST
The “Unusual Recipe Contest” has been adopted as a regular feature of the Homemaking
Exhibits Department in the Exhibit Hall. Recipes are being saved
with the hope of publishing a cookbook as a VBC Fair Fundraiser.
Entering is simple. Each recipe must be a legitimate recipe that has
been used in a family or found in printed material. These recipes
can be eatable or for making an inexpensive craft or cleaning
product. An example of an odd food product was found in the 1946
Ladies Home Journal was Cod Fish Cheek and Tongue Chowder (it
suggested the homemaker just go to their local fish market and order
a pound of cod fish tongues and cheeks).
The recipe can be entered
Monday, September 15 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. All recipes must have name and address of participant
on the reverse side of entry.
Best of Show winner will receive a local church cookbook.
